Susan McDaniel Keelin graduated from Duke University in 1989 and from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 1992. From 1992-2000, she was an associate and then partner with the law firm of Shanklin & McDaniel. She formed her own practice in 2000 and spent the next fourteen years in various aspects of commercial real estate, special assets and loan workouts. She is a certified superior court mediator and a trained facilitator. Susan joined Fletcher, Toll & Ray in an of counsel position in 2014. She focuses her practice in commercial real estate and business law.

Susan and her husband Chris live in Wilmington with their daughter. Susan is a past member of the Wilmington Rotary Club, has served on the Board of Directors of Cape Fear Literacy Council and has acted as pro bono counsel to the North Carolina Azalea Festival in Wilmington. She is currently Church Council Chairperson at Pine Valley United Methodist Church and volunteers as a guardian ad litem for the Cape Fear Guardian ad Litem program.
